Maybe it’s time

Maybe it has been a while since you’ve had a conversation with God…or maybe you never have. Maybe that whole God thing has seemed far away, and even a little weird.

But after the year we’ve had

Maybe you’ve decided it’s time. But how do you even talk to God? Where, exactly, do you begin?

Not to over simplify

But it really is quite simple. Just talk to Him. Like you would a friend. Even though you haven’t known Him, He has known you. From the very beginning of time. The Bible says that He knew you before you were born. That He formed you in your mother’s womb. He has been waiting for you to talk to Him.

Maybe it’s time

My daughter and I recently had a conversation about this, about where and when she talks to God. It’s really not complicated. In the morning, before work. Just sit down with your coffee in a quiet room and say, “Hi God, I’d like to get to know You better. Thanks for making me. Thanks for waking me up today”.

It’s a good place to start

Do you have a need? Ask Him for help. He’s waiting to respond. Maybe you need a job right now. When you are doing the dishes or laundry just talk to Him. Say something like, “Hey God, I really need a job right now, would You help me find a good one?”

Want to go even further?

When you sit down in a quiet room with your coffee, grab a Bible and read it. Start in Matthew…and just read. You’ll be amazed at what you find.

Because the truth is

That’s where He talks to us. Right there in the Bible. It’s where we find prayers and promises. It’s where we find hope and peace. And if you don’t have a Bible, just download the YouVersion Bible app. It’s so easy to use, right on your phone.

There is a life you can’t imagine, just waiting for you. Where there’s air to breathe and room to run. And it all starts with some simple conversation with the One who has always known you…the One who has always loved you.

A thief comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.
