Our tendency is to pull back from God when things are difficult in our lives. When we feel as though life is unfair or uncertain we often retreat from everything, including Him.
Why are our hearts so counterproductive?
Those times are the times we need most to be close to Him. Those times are the times we need most to climb up onto His lap like a child. That’s when we should be like that two year old who wants the attention of her Daddy. She grabs his face and pulls it close, presses her cheek against his. She refuses to let go.
When you are unsure of the ground you are standing on get close to God.
When life is throwing things at you that you cannot catch, get close to God.
Like a child, refuse to let go.
There you will find peace, joy and direction for your life.
King David understood this when he said:
Lord, how they are increased that trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me. Many are saying of me, there is no help for him in God. But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.Psalm 3:1-3
