Not everyone is a morning person. I get that. But I have learned that when I start my day off with God everything is just plain better.
I realize that some people work nights, or different shifts. So, if that’s you, this challenge might take place in the afternoon. Whenever you wake up, this challenge will be the first thing you do. We will do this for 28 days. It is said that it takes 21 days to create a habit. Some say it takes longer. With the new school year in full swing and the season getting ready to change I thought the month of October would be a good time to get us going on a life altering habit.
Each night I will post a scripture and prayer. You can grab it before bed and have it ready for the morning. So, that means that the first post will be up tonight so you can start in the morning. When you wake up DO NOT pick up your phone. If your phone serves as your alarm simply shut the alarm off and put the phone down. No distractions. These scriptures are all taken from my book Hope Against Hope, Living your life so that no trial is wasted. They are all in that book because they have had a profound impact on my life. They have been life giving to me, and I pray they will be life giving to you as well.
Grab your Bible and a cup of coffee, find a cozy spot, and talk to God for a few. Plan on spending a minimum of 15 minutes with Him. I realize that for some 15 minutes is a very long time, while for others it’s way too short. You can adjust the time spent as you need to. But please don’t go below 15 minutes. You can do this! Be sure to make this the first thing you do every single day!
