This scripture has walked me through some very dark times. If you read Hope Against Hope you know there were days when all I could pray was, “I trust You.” The awesome thing is…that prayer was enough. When I was working on this devotional I decided to read this scripture from my Amplified Bible.
Here’s how it reads:
Lean on, trust in,and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind. Do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
Wow. I’m not sure why I am always amazed at what God does. I mean, I know He’s a big God. I know He cares about me and my little life. But I am always shocked when He reaches down to touch my life. That’s exactly what He did with this scripture. As I said above, this scripture has walked me through some dark times. But here I am in the middle of some not-so-dark but rather uncertain times and I can’t seem to steady myself. But here God reminded me that I can be confident because of Him. I can continue to walk with one foot in front of the other through my daily life and He will make plain my paths.
Is there an area of your life that you are uncertain in? Perhaps you just keep looking the other way because it’s easier than facing it. Be confident in who God is and who He has made you to be. Allow Him to make plain your paths today.

Lord, today I choose to trust You in every situation. I trust You with my whole life. I choose confidence today. Not in myself or my ability, but rather in your plans and who You have made me to be. Direct, make straight and plain my path today, Lord, and I will walk it. In Jesus name.
Be Still –
Now just sit quietly with God, think about the scripture you read, re-read it if need be. Spend the rest of the 15 minutes just being with God.
